A G-valve is a simple manual boost controller. Inside of the valve is a ball bearing and a spring. When the boost pressure overcomes the strength of the spring, it allows air to pass through the valve and allow the waste gate actuator to see boost, causing it to open. There is a pinhole in the WGA side of the g-valve. If it was not for this pinhole, when the valve closed, air would still be trapped between the valve and the WGA and not allow the waste gate to close. The g-valve is availible from Turbos Unleashed for $43, or you can build your own.

Who uses a g-valve in conjunction with the wastegate solenoid?

www.mcmaster.com DIY part numbers

Barb 1/4 NPT fitting - 5346K51
1/4" 90deg barbed fitting - 44555k142
Adjustable 1/4 NPT vent valve - 48935K25

Take the 1/4" fitting and knock it into the hole on the threaded adjustment piece of the vent valve. Youll need a hammer and to make sure the valve is assembled and flat on a sturdy surface. Thread the barb fitting on the other end of the valve. take out the spring and ball and reverse them so that the ball is at the end with the 1/4NPT barbed fitting and the spring is at the end with the 90 deg barbed fitting.
