The SRT National website now has the ability to accept payment through credit cards. I know some of our members were waiting for this funcition and it is now up and running.

I have begun to see the advertisements for this event in many of the Mopar publications so I suggest if you are interested in the road course event (which is the only event that will fill up) then you should register soon. I see a few of our members have already registered for this event.

If you have any questions you can let me know.

Drag racing-how does that fill up?

There is a limit on the number of total road course participants because of time/space constraints.

There is no limit on the number of drag racers.

They do expect a heavy turnout for the drags too, but with two days of drag racing folks should still be able to get their fill. Much of it depends on how they run the event also (how much T&T time vs number of competition classes & events to be run).

Sorry Barry, still confused on this, the 2 days of drag racing, I am assuming are Friday and Saturday and that is combined SRT and SDAC-correct?To keep from being confused, it helps to understand there are two SEPARATE events taking place, the SRT Nationals, and SDAC-16.

The SRT event has ALL the moving events in it's schedule. The SRT Nationals are from Thursday through Saturday. The road course is on Thursday, with Friday & Saturday dedicated to drag racing.

SDAC-16 is on Sunday, and is not connected in any way with the SRT event or registration process. The only events for SDAC-16 will be our car show in the day, and our hospitality night that evening. SDAC is not involved in the planning of any of the SRT Nationals events, and we will not have a drag racing program of our own.

However, we (SDAC-16 attendees) have been invited to participate in any and all of the SRT Nationals events. To register for any of the SRT Nationals events you must go to their website.

The registration process for SDAC-16 will be announced this spring.

Just so all are aware, prices for the SRT Nationals have been increased somewhat (as was the organisers plans). The next increase is planned for May and I wouldn't rule out another increase in prices after then too. To quote the organisers "People who wait until June and July will be wishing they signed up now".

It also appears there they are planning an event for Wednesday now.

If there are any questions let me know.

Now this is only for the SRT Nats group, right? If we are just SDAC members just hanging out because we are flying in, maybe renting a car to drag race, what do we do?

SDAC is NOT holding any track events of our own. SDAC folks are invited to participate in any and all of the SRT Nats events/plans.

So if you want to be on track, you pay them. If you want your car in their judged car show, you pay them. If you want to spectate at their events, you pay their registration fee. If you want to attend their awards banquet, you pay them.

If you are attending the SDAC-16 day only, you pay SDAC only.

There really are not any combined events, and no money is changing hands between SDAC and the SRT folks. So in other words, paying the SDAC-16 registration fee does not get any priviledges at the SRT event, and paying any of their fees does not get admission to the SDAC-16 events on Sunday July 23rd. If the SRT folks want to come to SDAC-16 and enter our car show, they will have to register for our event and pay our fees, just like we do for theirs.
