I just found a picture of my Aunt in Alabama in the mid 80's with a Dodoge Daytona Turbo. I just found out that this car was even a manual tranny. It was silver in color with black on the bottom half. It has the numbers 024 right behind the doors with the word turbo in small letters underneath. It has some pretty cool wheels on it with a spoiler on the back. It has the exposed style gas cap that looks like a snowflake. The wheels are unlike any TD wheels I have ever seen. This could be another type of TD but I am pretty sure that it is a Daytona. Is there anyway that this could have been a Shelby and the 024 was the production number? This is very interesting and I was really excited when I found the photo. Was this car rare? It looks to be brand new in the picture. Can anyone give me more info on this car? I am going to go call my Aunt and ask her about the car. Thanks in advance. TurboLebaronGts.:bump2: :thumb: :D ;)

Are you sure it was a daytona? That description makes it sound like it was a Turismo 024. The gas cap and 024 make it sound like a 2 door L body to me.

It was an "L" body. No daytona's ever had an "024" designation. Also all daytona's had covered gas caps. "L"'s were exposed

Pretty interesting that it was a turbo-charged "024". I thought they were all N/A cars.......I thought the only turbo L-bodies were the Shelby Charger, GLH, and GLH-S cars.

I was under the very same impression. could that be the reason he mentioned the wheels? 4 lug steelies with the center cap and beauty ring?

I just e-mailed you the picture of the car. My aunt said it was very fast and had a red leather interior. She said she got a speeding ticket in it. What motor was in it? GTS

It is a standard 2.2 I believe.

Wouldn't have been turbo, but still a unique vehicle :thumb:

Nice picture of a Dodge Omni 024.

They were available from 1979 to 1982.

Hard for me to tell in the picture if that car has the amber turn signals.

If it has the amber/red/white taillights, it's a 1979-1980 model.

If it has the red/white taillights, it's a 1981 1982 model. This style taillight was available in 1983, but, this would've been called a Charger instead.

The 2.2 liter was optional in the 1981 1982 Omni 024.

Just some little tidbits I thought you might be interested in.

Love those 13" Ralleye wheels and taillight extension applique on the sides of the car. Booyah!!! :)

My fave spoiler on a 2-dr L-body as well.
