I'm sure it's here somewhere, but can't find it. Does anyone have pictures of modified / reinforced Kframes, control Arms and the likes? I just got my suspension parts back from the blaster, and want to fix anything I can before sending them to powdercoating. I remember seeing pics somewhere of control arms that were reinforced or "boxed in" in areas. I also have found pictures of k-frames that broke, but can't find any of "modified ones". I already have some considerable welding to do on it since it looks like it was welded by a 3 year old. Any pics or advice on where the weak points are would be great.
I also removed the rear swaybar and will install (finally) a PolyBushings swaybar, and was wondering if I should box in the rear axle?

Here's pics of what I did. Be sure to stitch weld.
As for the a-arms, you might be better off to grab cast arms (forget what years work) at the junk yard. I took 1.5 and 2.0 strap and shaped it to fit.
Boxing the rear axle AND a sway bar is probably too much. My car oversteers a lot. Engine issues so not enough time in it to sort it out yet.

The cast arms are the later style, and will not work with an L body K frame. I have seen pics of a person that narrowed a daytona K frame and modified it to work in an L body, but that looked like a lot of work.
Your best bet is to just get some caravan A arms which are gusseted from the factory.

I've seen that Omni before on Johnny's website, but never knew about that brace. What would that give me? What I'm looking for is a streetable, (not daily driver, but rides like one) car that will be fun car on something like a road course. If my car ever got up on tow wheels like that, I'd have to clean my seats!!
BTW- This is an 831/2 SC, being converted to Turbo ('89 common block, and a 523 tranny)

Probably doesn't need such drastic methods for that kind of use - Konis with the LRE springs will tighten it up loads, maybe a strut brace.
Being up on two wheels like that isn't as scary as it looks, used to do it loads in my '81 Renault 5 Turbo (only rolled it once :D)
