Hey, I'm going to be putting a set of 16" Pumpers on my Rampage (when i find a set) and i was wondering what size tires you guys are running on your L-bodies with the 16" rims? I was thinking of a 225 series, but i was worried about the tire hitting the trans on sharp turns.. I would also like a wide tire on the back, but their is not very much room between the leaf spring, and tire. Does anyone out their have a wide set of tires on the back of their Rampage? I also want to keep the tires the same diameter as the stock 15" wheels, so i dont screw up my speedometer...

Thanks

Well, I don't have a tire calculator handy, but the 205/50r15s that came on the chargers rubbed stock. A 225/xx16 would certainly do that I would immagine.

I've put the 225's on my Rampage (on 15" pumpers) and they rubbed:mad: not to mention on a 6" rim there is so much sidewall(the tires would balloon out) the truck would 'wallow' around too much. It handles MUCH better on 205's because they are a better match for a 'narrow' rim. Now if you had some 7" wide rims with about a 40-42mm offset...

Thanks guys for the info. I guess i will stay with 205 series.. I'm guessing the 16" pumpers are 6.0" in width?

The stock overall tire diameter on my Rampage in 23.1 with the 205/50/15, and the closest to staying with the overall diameter on the 16" rim would be 205/45/16 which is 23.2. So i guess that would be the size of tire i have to buy.

When I just test fit 225 tires with crab wheels on my charger they rubbed the tranny case big time, even with the stock 205's they do as well.

I run 225 on 15" pumpers and they hit the trans when you turn the wheel all the way to the right.
